Sejarah Dunkin' Donuts

Ini adalah sejarah Dunkin' Donuts. dari awal Dunkin' Donuts hingga sekarang.

dia terpaksa berhenti sekolah untuk membantu kedua orang tuanya. Dia bekerja di “Western Union” hanya sebentar lalu dia bekerja sebagai penjual di “Jack & Jill Ice Cream, dalam waktu 4 tahun dia bisa menjadi manajer penjualan untuk distribusi ke restaurant dan lembaga-lembaga.
Dia mengumpulkan 2500 dolar dan memulai usahanya yang bergerak dibidang Industri Jasa Hidangan. Yang dijualnya adalah sandwich dan hidangan makan siang untuk pekerja pabrik di daerah Boston dan sekitarnya.
Usaha Industri Jasa Hidangan ini meluas cepat mencapai 140 truk namun segera menyurut pada akhir tahun 1940an.
Tahun 1950 membuka “The Open Kettle” lalu diganti nama menjadi “Dunkin’ Donuts” yang diambil nama dari komedi lama “Red Skelton”.
Tahun 1963, William Rosenberg mengalihkan jabatannya CEO kepada putranya yang bernama “Robert”.
Tahun 1963 mempunyai 100 toko yang menghasilkan 100 juta dolar. Dunkin’ Donuts lalu menjual sahamnya kepada masyarakat tahun 1968 yang pada saat itu telah mempunyai 334 toko menjadi 700 toko dalam waktu 3 tahun. Dengan strateginya yang agresif dalam memperluas dia mampu mencapai 90 juta dolar tahun 1970 dan tahun 1971 mencapai 950.000 dolar, tahun 1972 mampu mencapai 120 juta dolar
Tahun 1973 menghadapi menurunan sehingga dia harus menjual 56 toko dan perusahaan merugi hingga 1,7 juta dolar. Itu menurun hingga 12% dari semua toko Dunkin’ Donuts.
Ketika dia sudah mengalami penurunan, namun dia tetap membuka usahanya dengan memilih tempat dengan hati-hati seperti pompa bensin, bandar udara, toko-toko diskon yang menyenangkan.

Perusahaan ini menetapkan pandangannya dalam membangun dan mempertahankan staf perusahaan yang paling stabil dan efektif dalam industri ini dan perusahaan ini menyadari bahwa usaha tanpa staf perusahaan yang stabil dan efektif maka tidak akan bisa maju malahan akan menghadapi ancaman.
*        Mengambil ahli pesaing yang ada dan mengubah toko mereke menjadi toko Dunkin’ Donuts.
Pada tahun 1991 pesaing Dawn Donuts di Timur telah di gulung. 59 toko dibeli dan diubah namanya menjadi Dunkin’ Donuts dan Mister Donut juga diambil alih.
Lebih dari 28 juta dolar dihabiskan untuk mengambil alih 550 toko Mister Donut dari perusahaan Internasional Multifood.
*        Menemukan daerah yang baru dan menguntungkan.
salah satunya adalah usaha toko mini, usaha toko mini ini dibuka disekitar stasiun kereta api, terminal bus, bandar udara.
Lalu daerah selanjutnya adalah pompa bensin, pompa bensin Exxon, Citgo, Shell, dan Amoco adalah pompa bensin yang sudah bekerja sama dengan Dunkin’ Donuts.
Dunkin’ Donuts sudah mempunyai ratusan tempat sampai 1995. Dunkin’ Donuts tidak hanya di dalam negri saja namun sudah keluar negri dari Brazil sampai ke Arab Saudi, selain itu Allied sudah mempersiapkan 4 tempat baru yaitu :
  1. Amerika
  2. Eropa Barat
  3. Inggris Raya
  4. Bagian Dunia Lainnya.
650 tempat berhasil menghasilkan 220 juta dolar. Usaha ini juga sedang diperluas ke Spanyol, Korea dan Inggris.
Perhitungan terakhir pada tanggal 29 Februari 1993 menghasilkan 1,35 milyar dolar dari 3000 tempat penjualan dalam negri. Tahun 1992 memperoleh 1,22 milyar dolar dan 1,03 milyar dolar berasal dari dalam negri.
Dunkin’ Donuts selalu mengutamakan kualitasnya dan setiap anggota selalu bekerja sama untuk membangun Dunkin’ Donuts menjadi tambah berkembang.
Dunkin’ Donuts mampu menyediakan pasokan tepat waktu.
Setiap manager bertanggung jawab atas pengembangan, pengemasan, penelitian pasar, penetapan harga, dan penyediaan bahan.
Ketiga golongan produk lainnya adalah donat, cairan termasuk kopi, dan sop serta bakaran termasuk sandwich.

Dengan Dunkin’ Donuts mengeluarkan produk yang lebih beragam.
Dunkin’ Donuts telah mengalami pelajaran dari perluasan usahanya dalam tahun 60an, masalah berat telah dipecahkan oleh perusahaan yaitu dengan meningkatkan penjualan tanpa terlalu memperluas usaha dan mampu memasuki pesaingan dipasaran.
Dengan banyaknya pesaing di pasaran Dunkin’ Donuts mengurangi waktu usahanya, dan Dunkin’ Donuts juga mengeluarkan produk menarik untuk pelanggan.
Dunkin’ Donuts juga mampu meyakini pelanggan bahwa Dunkin’ Donuts tidak hanya membuat donut namun menyediakan sandwich dan sop.
